I am a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist. My training began in the UK, where I earned my undergraduate Degree in Applied Clinical and Social Psychology from the University of Kent, followed by a postgraduate degree in Social and Developmental Psychology from the University of Cambridge. My initial clinical and research experience was gained at a residential treatment center for individuals seeking help with addictive disorders. Upon returning to Italy, I pursued further training as a psychodynamic psychotherapist at the Istituto IRPA in Milan, followed by a specialization in Emotionally Focused Couples and Family Therapy.
As a clinician, I have worked with a local mental health unit (CSM) and at ARIA – Centro di Ascolto per Adolescenti, a public drop-in counseling center for adolescents (11-21) operated by the City of Turin. I also co-founded and co-directed a successful low-cost therapy clinic with fellow Psychologists and Psychoanalysts, specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, personality disorders and trauma.
One of my primary interests lies in exploring how social contexts and cultural experiences shape individual minds, and how we subjectively make sense of these experiences—a perspective influenced by my upbringing in a multicultural and multilingual Italian-Brazilian family, as well as by my international education. This background has led me to work extensively with expats and international families, both in private practice as an individual and couples Therapist, and as a consultant Psychologist for two international schools in the Turin area.
I believe that in order to be truly transformational, therapy should be a unique, tailor-made experience that emerges from a safe space, co-constructed between patient and therapist, which enables the exploration of the uncharted parts of the self and the discovery of more authentic and creative modes of expression and ways of communicating.
